Canon HV30 - Mini-dv, High Definition Camcorder

In my search for a reasonably priced, fully functional minidv high definition camcorder I came across the Canon HV30.

Basic things I look for are microphone and headphone input jacks, manual control of things like focus, aperture and shutter speed.

Being a canon and mini-dv as well, it has good reviews for capturing stunning images. I like the tape format and it still captures the best images.

This model (different to what I've used previously) comes with widescreen (16:9) mode and is a High Definition model.

I have always felt comfortable using Sony camcorders, but if I was to switch brands then the Canon HV30 would be the camcorder for me.
