Digital Video Camcorders Techniques - Get Closer

I actually got this idea when I was watching an episode of Oprah (yes I have seen Oprah once or twice before).

It was actually a photographer talking specifically to mothers I think about the best way to take pictures of their children if they don't want to go to a professional studio.

The main thing he said that stuck in my mind was "When you think you have framed your baby or child close enough in the lens of your camera, go in a little closer than what you normally would and take the picture. You will often be surprised at the end result".

Below is a video example of framing your subject in a more interesting way with your digital video camcorders:

So I thought at the time "how would this work with video?"

I know all the terms like 'close-up' and 'extreme close-up', but what a phrase like "get close, then get closer" does is stick in your head.

And once you have those thoughts you naturally look for different ways to frame your subject (whatever that subject may be) and the end result is some interesting video.

Yes it wont work all the time, but more often than not it will come out with the edge that your video needed.

If you have any of your own digital video camcorders techniques like this one it would be great if you could mention it in the comments below.
