Motocross Riding Tips By Gary Semics - Vol 1 # 3

More motocross riding tips on video this time by Gary Semics!

When racing motocross or supercross, jumping can be one of the biggest thrills, but also one of the scariest and most dangerous tasks to undertake.

Particularly in a supercross race, you will find there are many times when you have very little run up room to gain the speed you need to clear a jump.

The act of 'weighting' and 'un-weighting' the dirtbike helps to give you more height and distance to clear that big double or triple.

This is similar to doing a 'bunny-hop' on a BMX and can be practiced with a partner while standing still.

The same technique can be used to 'pre-jump' a small obstacle or to avoid hitting a jump that will send you too high in the air and actually slow your lap times down.

These techniques are not just for the supercross or motocross racer. There would be many times when the trail rider would have to pre-jump to clear rocks or branches, ruts or water crossings.
