Motocross Riding Tips By Gary Semics - Vol 1 # 4

More motocross riding tips on video this time by Gary Semics!

One of the quickest and most exhilarating ways to go fast through a flat corner is to powerslide your dirtbike through it.

To correctly slide a motocross or dirtbike under power it is necessary to be positioned and balanced at the optimum point.

Too much weight over the rear wheel will have it hook up too much and rather than slide try to send you straight instead of turning.

Too much weight over the frontend will have the rear wheel light and you may not hook up at all or spin the dirtbike out.

To correctly powerslide over dirt first you have to find the 'pivot point' of the dirtbike.

Then by positioning your upper body just ahead of the pivot point you un-weight the rear wheel just enough to let it slide you around the corner will still maintaining control of the dirtbike.

The best examples of powersliding through a turn can be find by watching videos of Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart through turn one of a track like Southwick!.
