Dirtbike & Motocross Riding Tips - Hill Climbing

More dirtbike & motocross riding tips on video from the boys at MXtv!

Hill climbing on your dirtbike can be frustrating nightmare for some or a thrilling challenge for others.

Here Rod Lay of MXtv gives you some useful tips for conquering those hills.

First of all, don't rush into things. Sit back on your dirtbike and scan the hill for obstacles such as rocks and branches, look for ruts and a good line. If you can watch another dirtbike rider go first.

A successful hillclimb will start at the very bottom - tackle the hill standing, be in the right gear and be smooth on the throttle.

Standing allows you to absorb bumps with your legs. If you do have to sit, have your weight at the front of the seat.

You should try to tackle the hill (if you can ) in at least second gear... third if possible. This will control whellspin.

Try to be smooth and maintain momentum on the dirtbike.

If you do slow, add more throttle, but as you do, control it with the clutch.

Worse case scenario, if you do stall or stop, turn your dirtbike around, head back to the bottom of the hill and have another go at the hill.
