Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams
Carnegie
Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008)
gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before
a packed McConomy Auditorium.
What
would you say if you knew you were going to die?
Would
you want pity or sympathy?
Want
to make others sad with your story or feel your pain?
Not
Randy Pausch... he chose to give back.
In
his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood
Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave
advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal
goals.
We
should see life as a constant learning experience as Randy tells
us: "Experience is what we get when we dont get what we want".
Thomas
Edison said something similar when he made the statement ""I
have not failed. I've just found 1,000 ways that won't work."
